5 Sep 2025: New Delhi – The Delhi government will double money for courts and spend 740 crore rupees on new technology and housing for judges. This big announcement came when Supreme Court judge Vikram Nath said courts only scold the government to help it work better, not because judges are angry.
Judge Nath made it clear that no judge enjoys scolding the government. Courts only speak up when they must help the government serve people better. His words came at a special event where Delhi High Court launched new mobile apps and computer systems to make court work faster and easier.
Delhi Government Works Hard to Avoid Court Scolding
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said her government has been working day and night for six months to fix city problems. The government does not want courts to complain about their work anymore.
The city now removes 30,000 metric tonnes of garbage every day, which is more than double the earlier 14,000 metric tonnes. Gupta also said her government has a real plan to clean the Yamuna river, something past governments never did properly. She thanked Prime Minister Modi for his help in this work.
Big Money for Better Courts
The Delhi government announced these new spending plans:
- Double the budget for all court work
- 200 crore rupees for hybrid courts that work both online and offline
- 540 crore rupees for houses where judges will live
- Free Wi-Fi in all court buildings
- More money for law students who help judges with research
Judge Nath wants Delhi High Court to show live videos of court proceedings. He called it a premier institution that should lead others. He believes using computers and internet will help people understand court work better and reduce delays.
“The reprimand is for the government’s better administration, not because of animosity. No judge reprimands the government happily… but when it is compulsory,” Justice Nath said in bold and italic.
These changes will help common people get justice faster through mobile apps and online systems. The new technology will save time and make courts work better for everyone.
