Patna University third cut-off list likely to get released on June 24

June 22, 2024, Patna: Patna University (PU) is expected to release the third cut-off list for admission to the four-year undergraduate (FYUG) programmes for the 2024-25 academic session on Monday, June 24. Until now, a total of 2,698 students from different constituent colleges have already been admitted from the first and second cutoff lists. 

The Dean of Students’ Welfare, Patna University, Anil Kumar said that the maximum number of students admitted from the two cut-off lists were B N College (698), followed by Magadh Mahila College (686). Patna College, Patna Science College, and Vanijya Mahavidyalay have 603, 432, and 279 students respectively admitted till now. 

Kumar also said that the admission process will take place in the respective colleges two days after the publication of the cut-off list, which is June 24. “Students who opted for the sliding option during the second round of admission would be considered for their upgrade in the third round of admission”, said the dean.

Further adding, the dean said that admissions are being held simultaneously in the three-year degree courses under the self-financing scheme in different colleges. The self-financing (vocational) courses running in different colleges of Patna University include functional English (Patna College and B N College), BCA (B N College, Patna Science College, Magadh Mahila College), BBA (Patna College, BN College, Magadh Mahila College), biotechnology (Patna Science College and B N College), mass communications (Patna College), environmental science (Patna Science College), and social work (Magadh Mahila College). 

Earlier, PU Vice-Chancellor K C Sinha informed that this year, in the science stream, Zoology and Mathematics showed the highest cut-off marks of 90.8%. Whereas in the arts stream, Political Science honours showed the highest cut-off marks of 93.6%. 

According to Anil Kumar, nearly 12,000 students had applied for admission in the regular BA, BSc and BCom honours courses as well as self-financing (vocational) courses in the five above-mentioned colleges of Patna University in the 2024-25 session.
