The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning to start sports coaching for school children. They will use their sports facilities and work with private companies to provide this coaching.

Details of the Sports Coaching Plan

The NDMC wants to use places like Shera Ground, Talkatora Cricket Ground, and Shivaji Hockey Stadium for coaching. They will ask professional agencies to provide coaching. These agencies will share the money they make with NDMC. The NDMC is now starting to look for companies to do this work. They want to make sports popular among children. This plan is like an old one they had from 2016 to 2020. The old plan stopped because of Covid-19.

Benefits for Students and Schools

In the old plan, students got coaching at low prices. One-third of the seats were kept for NDMC students. Delhi government schools also got benefits. NDMC runs 31 Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas and 11 Navyug Schools with about 30,000 students. Last year, NDMC hired part-time coaches for 10 sports in their schools. They are also building a new hall at Navyug School in Pandara Park. This will cost 11.29 crore rupees.

Agencies have used NDMC sports infrastructure including Shera Ground, Talkatora Cricket Ground, Shivaji Hockey Stadium, etc. This initiative was launched in alignment with the councils resolution that approved the use of school playgrounds for community benefit in the evenings.

The NDMC is now starting the process to find agencies for this new sports coaching plan. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
