A new art festival in Delhi is bringing history to life in public spaces. The City as a Museum festival, running from September 6 to 21, aims to make art more accessible by displaying it outside gallery walls.

Historic Qudsia Bagh Hosts Heritage Walk

The festival opened with a heritage walk in Qudsia Bagh led by historian Swapna Liddle. She told visitors about a big art show held there in 1903 during British rule. The park has changed a lot since then. It was built in 1748 by a Mughal queen and used to have walls and water channels. Now only some old parts remain, like a gate and a mosque. Liddle showed how the park connects old times to today.

Art Festival Aims to Reach More People

The Delhi Art Gallery wants to show art in new ways through this festival. They hope to make art less elite and more open to everyone. The festival is free to join. It will have events in many public places around Delhi. This is different from normal art shows that happen inside galleries. The organizers want people to see how art is part of city life. They hope this will help more people enjoy and understand art.

A lot of people feel that art is elite, something only for intellectuals. I hope this event dispels that.

The City as a Museum festival runs until September 21 in various locations across Delhi. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
