The water level in Yamuna River has gone down. This has allowed some places to reopen. But people living near the river are facing new problems. Their homes are now full of mud and dirt.

Homes and shops covered in mud

People in Yamuna Bazar are trying to clean their homes. The flood has left a lot of mud behind. Geeta Kashyap, who lives there, says it is very hard to clean. Many shops are still closed. Some people have started to move back. But their houses are not easy to live in yet. The mud is making a bad smell. This is causing health worries for the people.

Some places reopen as water goes down

The Nigambodh Ghat, which is a big place for funerals, has opened again. It was closed for many days. Now people can use it for cremations. The Yamuna Bank Metro station is also open now. People can use the roads to reach it. In some areas like Bela Road, the water has gone down. But people are worried it might flood again if it rains a lot. It was a day of hope and despair for residents of the Yamuna floodplains.
