Residents of Vasant Kunj's C-9 Block in New Delhi are facing a water crisis due to contamination. Over the past three to four days, they have reported dirty water supply and illnesses among locals.
Sewer Water Mixing with Regular Supply
People living in C-9 Block say sewer lines are overflowing. This is causing sewer water to mix with the regular water supply. The block has 926 flats with about 3,500 to 4,000 residents. Many have stopped using water from their tanks since Friday night. The water smells bad and looks brown. Residents are now using water tankers and buying water from shops.
Health Problems and Lack of Clean Water
Many people in the area are falling sick. They have stomach problems like vomiting and loose motions. Children and old people are the most affected. Some residents had to go to the hospital. The lack of clean water is causing fights among people. There are not enough water tankers for everyone. People are worried about the spread of diseases. The local water board has not said anything about the problem yet. Incessant rainfall over the past week has led to water contamination in Vasant Kunj’s C-9 Block, residents alleged, citing dirty supply over the past three to four days and developing ailments among residents of the locality. They said sewer lines were overflowing, causing it to mix with the regular water…
We need the DJB to resolve this issue quickly, as many illnesses can spread in the locality due to the water, and a situation of panic currently exists in Block C-9.
Residents are waiting for the Delhi Jal Board to fix the water contamination problem soon. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
