River level going down slowly
The water level has been going down since it reached 207.48 metres last Thursday. This was the highest point this season. As the water goes down, people are cleaning mud from their homes that were flooded. The river crossed the danger level last Tuesday. This led to the closing of the Old Railway Bridge. The bridge opened for traffic on Monday night when the water went below the danger mark.
Help for affected people
Tents have been set up to help people who had to leave their homes near the river. These tents are on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, near Mori Gate and in Mayur Vihar.
