Thousands of people in Delhi are living in relief camps after the Yamuna river flooded. More than 18,000 people had to leave their homes because of the rising water. The government has set up many camps across the city to help them.

Camp Conditions and Challenges

The camps are very crowded. They give food and shelter, but life is hard there. Many people worry about what will happen when they go back home. In Mayur Vihar, one big camp has more than 1,300 people. Some families could not get tents and had to make their own shelters. The camps have problems like not enough toilets and too many mosquitoes. People are scared of getting sick from dirty water.

Worries About the Future

People in the camps have lost many things in the flood. They are worried about buying new clothes, school things, and food when they go back. Some had their homes broken earlier this year, and now the flood has made things worse. Parents are upset about their children missing school. The roads are full of mud, and it will take a long time to clean up. People are also worried about fixing their homes and getting electricity back.

It will take months for us to buy clothes, utensils and furniture again.

The government is working to help people in camps, but cleaning up after the flood will take many weeks. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
