The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme aims to create one crore internship opportunities for young Indians over five years. The first pilot saw over 1.27 lakh internship positions posted, with 8,700 interns joining organizations.

The program started with the top 500 companies in India. In Round 1, 1.8 lakh people applied for internships. Companies made 82,000 offers. 28,000 offers were accepted.
