Tunir Sahoo, a student at IIM-Kashipur, has won the James Dyson Award for inventing JivaScope. JivaScope is a device that can screen for breathing and heart problems in rural areas where doctors lack tools.
How JivaScope Was Born
Sahoo got the idea for JivaScope after seeing a sick child in rural Bihar. The child might have had pneumonia, but the doctor could not check properly. Sahoo then talked to many rural doctors. They all said they needed better tools to find diseases early. So Sahoo made JivaScope, a cheap and strong device that uses AI to check for health issues. Anyone can use it anywhere.
Winning the Award and Future Plans
Sahoo worked hard to get ready for the award. He tested JivaScope a lot and got help from his teachers and friends. Winning the award has made more people know about JivaScope. Now Sahoo can talk to experts and get money to make JivaScope better. He wants to make it work even better and tell more people about it. His big goal is to help many people in rural areas get better health care. The View From India Looking at World Affairs from the Indian perspective.
