Education Minister Launches Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 for Students

What is the Buildathon about?

The Buildathon is a big school contest. It wants students to think of new ideas for India. Students will work on four main topics: Vocal for Local, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, and Samriddhi. These topics are about making things in India and helping the country grow. The contest will help students learn to solve problems. It will also show how young people can help make India better.

How will the contest work?

Students can join the contest from September 23 to October 6. They need to sign up on a website. From October 6 to 13, schools will help make student teams. On October 13, there will be a big event where all students will work on their ideas at the same time. Students have to send their final ideas by October 31. Experts will look at all the ideas from November to December. In January 2026, they will tell who won. The top 1,000 winners will get prizes.

The largest-ever school hackathon, Viksit Bharat Buildathon, will strengthen grassroots innovation by encouraging students to ideate and build products on four key themes.
