The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the final results of the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam for over 16,000 teacher posts. Out of 5.7 lakh applications, 3.36 lakh candidates were eligible, with appointments confirmed for nearly 15,000 candidates across six departments.
Selection Details and Vacant Posts
Kona Sasidhar, secretary of the school education department, said the DSC selection covered 10 management categories. About 400 posts remain vacant due to lack of suitable candidates. These will be filled in the next DSC recruitment. Nearly 7,000 selected candidates are women, making up 49.9 percent of the total. The government also introduced sports quota and completed SC classification in this recruitment.
Appointment Process and Future Plans
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan will give appointment letters to selected candidates on September 19. Training for new teachers will happen from September 22 to 29 in allotted districts. After this, their posting places will be decided. The government plans to conduct DSC recruitment every year. They want to finish the process before the next school year starts. This will help strengthen the education system in the state.
