The police got a tip about the network in Delhi and nearby states. A brickmaker in UP's Banda reported his 6-month-old son missing from a bus stop. The baby was sold to a doctor who owns a hospital in Agra for 1.5 lakh rupees. The police caught people linked to the ring across UP. Details of the rescued children
One of the rescued babies was from the August kidnapping case. The police are trying to find the parents of the other 5 babies. All the children are now in shelter homes in Delhi. The gang had been selling babies, mostly boys, to couples without children for 3 years. They tricked these couples into thinking the adoptions were legal and charged 2 to 5 lakh rupees.
We are in the process of identifying and locating the biological parents of the other five infants.
