The bill says changing back to your old family religion is not counted as conversion. Marriages done just for changing religion will not be allowed. The person accused of forcing conversion has to prove they are innocent. The bill also talks about stopping conversions done through the internet. Anyone can now report a case of forced conversion. Harsh Punishments in the Bill
People who force others to change religion can go to jail for 7 to 14 years. They also have to pay at least 5 lakh rupees. If the victim is a child, woman, or from a poor group, the jail time is 10 to 20 years. For mass conversions, the punishment is 20 years to life in jail. The bill allows breaking buildings used for mass conversions. It also takes away property used for illegal conversions.
The Rajasthan Assembly today has done the work of giving a stringent law to put an end to incidents of religious conversion in the state.
