4 Sep 2025: New Delhi – India’s top management schools have kept their leading positions in the latest education rankings released by the Ministry of Education. IIM Ahmedabad remains the best management institute in the country for another year, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode in second and third places.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2025 were announced on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the results for 17 different categories of educational institutions across India.
Top Management Schools Hold Strong
IIT Delhi has maintained its fourth position among management institutes, showing no change from last year. The top 10 list shows that most leading institutes have kept their rankings stable.
IIM Lucknow secured the fifth spot, while IIM Mumbai and IIM Calcutta took sixth and seventh positions. IIM Indore came eighth, followed by Management Development Institute in Gurugram at ninth place. XLRI – Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur completed the top 10 list.
Other Category Winners
In the overall category, IIT Madras won the top position once again. IISc Bangalore and IIT Bombay secured second and third spots in this category.
AIIMS New Delhi emerged as the best medical college in India. Hindu College topped the colleges category, while IISc Bangalore and JNU retained their top two positions in the universities category.
This was the tenth edition of the NIRF Rankings. The rankings covered 17 different categories including engineering, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture, agriculture, innovation, and state universities.
The consistent performance of these institutes shows the quality of education they provide to students, education officials noted during the announcement.
The rankings help students and parents choose the right institute for higher education. These results are based on teaching quality, research work, and placement records of each institute.
