How Counselling Works

Students need to register on the official website when counselling starts. They must fill in their choices of colleges in order of preference. Seats are given based on NEET rank and available seats. There are usually four rounds of counselling – Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up, and Stray Vacancy. Students can apply for both all-India and state quotas at the same time.

Top Colleges and Cutoffs

Some top government colleges are AIIMS Delhi, Maulana Azad Medical College, and King Georges Medical University. For private colleges, students can look at Kasturba Medical College and Christian Medical College. The cutoff marks change every year. Usually, students need more than 600 marks in the general category to get into top government colleges. Private college cutoffs are often lower than government ones.
