The workshop, which started on Wednesday, aims to boost women-led rural businesses under the DAY-National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Government Officials Highlight Program Success
Shailesh Kumar Singh from the Ministry of Rural Development spoke about the program's achievements. He said it has helped over 10 crore women join 90 lakh self-help groups. Many of these women have started their own businesses. The program has done well in states like Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, and Karnataka. Now, more states like Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are joining in with help from top schools. M.B. Rajesh, a Kerala minister, said his state is working hard to help women start businesses through a program called Kudumbashree.
Workshop Aims to Boost Rural Businesses
The workshop will talk about how to help rural businesses grow. Experts will discuss topics like mentoring, money, technology, and selling products. People from good schools, big companies, and social groups will share their ideas. They want to help more states start programs that support rural businesses. The workshop will come up with plans to help women start businesses in rural areas. This is part of the government's plan to make India better by 2047.
We want to make this program a big platform for women to start businesses in rural areas, said Swati Sharma from the Ministry of Rural Development.
