National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has signed an agreement with Skill Development Institute (SDI) Bhubaneswar. The deal aims to start a skill training program for youth from villages near NALCO's work areas.
Program Details
The program will train 60 young people. 30 will come from villages near NALCO's Mines and Refinery Complex in Damanjodi. Another 30 will be from areas close to the Smelter and Power Complex in Angul. The training will last for three months. Students will stay at the training center during this time. They will learn different job skills based on rules set by the National Skill Development Council.
NALCO's Community Focus
This program is part of NALCO's efforts to help local communities. The company wants to give young people skills that can help them get jobs. NALCO Foundation, which handles the company's social work, signed the deal with SDI. Top officials from both NALCO and SDI were present when the agreement was signed. NALCO hopes this program will create more job chances in areas where it works. Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD of NALCO, called this program a step towards giving local youth skills needed for jobs and better lives.
