How JEE Main scoring works
In JEE Main, you get marks out of 300. Right answers give 4 marks. Wrong answers take away 1 mark. But your raw marks are not the final score. NTA turns your marks into a percentile. If you want to join a top NIT or IIIT for computer science or other popular subjects, try to get 200+ marks. This can give you 99+ percentile and a rank in the top 15,000. To qualify for JEE Advanced, you usually need 90-93 percentile for general category. The cutoff is lower for reserved categories. JEE Main happens twice a year. You can take both tests.
