Murty calls for more research freedom
Murty said students should be free to pick research topics they like. This will make them excited about new ideas. He wants 10% of studies to be in subjects like arts, psychology and history. Murty shared that IIT-H helped start 320 new companies this year. These companies are making lots of money. IIT-H students also made 180 new inventions and got 219 patents.
Governor gives out degrees and medals
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma gave out degrees at the event. He gave 22 people doctor degrees. He also gave 57 students gold medals for doing very well. In total, 27,210 students got degrees. The Governor said MGU is important because it gives good education to poor students in villages. University head Khaja Althaf Hussain talked about the school's progress.
