Ice Staff Code & Upgrades Guide Call of Duty Black Ops 3

If you are a fan of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies mode, you might have heard of the Ice Staff, one of the four elemental staffs that you can build and upgrade in the Origins map. The Ice Staff, also known as the Staff of Water, is a powerful weapon that shoots a beam of ice that freezes and shatters zombies. Sounds cool, right? But how do you get it and make it even cooler? Well, in this article, I will show you the steps to create and upgrade the Ice Staff in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Origins. Let’s get started!

How to create the Ice Staff

To create the Ice Staff, you will need to find three staff parts, the elemental crystal, the gramophone, and the blue record. Here is how to find them:

  • The staff parts can be found in dig spots during a snowy round. It usually snows on rounds 2-5, 10, and randomly after that. One part is in the starting area (spawn to the workshop), one is in the middle area of the map, and one is near the church.
  • The blue record is located near Generator 2, inside the tank station on one of the shelves.
  • The gramophone is always on the floor inside the Excavation Site.
  • The elemental crystal is inside the Crazy Place, which you can access by using the gramophone and the blue record in the Ice Tunnel near the church. You can only pick up the crystal if you enter the Crazy Place from the Ice Tunnel.

Once you have all the items, you can build the Ice Staff in the lowest level of the Excavation Site, in the blue pedestal.

How to upgrade the Ice Staff to Ull’s Arrow

Now that you have the Ice Staff, you might want to upgrade it to Ull’s Arrow, which gives it more range and power. To do that, you will need to solve three puzzles:

  • The first puzzle is in the Crazy Place, where you will see six panels of floating stones with symbols above the portal. On the wall, there is a blue ice panel with dots in various patterns. You will need to match the dots with the symbols and shoot them with the Ice Staff in the correct order. The order changes every game, so you will need to figure it out yourself. Here is a map that explains how to read the symbols and the dots.
  • The second puzzle is to find and shoot three tombstones with a weapon other than the Ice Staff. The tombstones are located near the soul chest behind Juggernog, in one of the giant’s footprints next to a body impaled on a stake, and by the tank station near a broken robot outside the map.
  • The third puzzle is to rotate the giant rings on the amplification device in the underground of the Excavation Site. You will need to use the handles around the stairs to line them up so that they are all blue. Then, you will need to shoot the floating blue ball in the middle of the rings with the Ice Staff.

After you complete the puzzles, you will need to go back to the Crazy Place and put the Ice Staff in the holder. Then, you will need to kill zombies nearby to charge the staff to its full power. After about 25 zombies, your staff will be ready and you can pick it up. Congratulations, you have upgraded the Ice Staff to Ull’s Arrow!
