The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has postponed CA exams in Kathmandu. This is because of unrest in Nepal. The exams were set for September 9 and 10.

Which exams are affected

The CA Intermediate Group 1, Paper 1 was set for September 9. The CA Final Group 1, Paper 1 was set for September 10. These exams will not happen in Kathmandu now. ICAI will tell new dates when things get better. This change is only for the Kathmandu center. All other exam centers in India and other countries will have exams as planned.

Why ICAI made this decision

Nepal is having protests right now. The government there has stopped social media for some time. This has caused problems. ICAI said they only stop exams when it is not safe to have them. They will start the exams again when things are peaceful. This is not the first time ICAI has changed exam dates this month. Earlier, they moved exams in Punjab because of big floods.
