The Ministry of Education has given letters of intent to 12 top foreign universities to open campuses in India. One UK university has already started classes in Gurugram for the 2025-26 academic year.
More Foreign Campuses Coming Soon
Other foreign universities will open campuses in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai and near Delhi. This is part of a new rule made by the University Grants Commission in 2023. The rule lets top foreign universities open campuses in India. They can run these campuses on their own. This follows the National Education Policy 2020 plan. The plan wants to make Indian education better and more global.
