Climate change may reduce Uganda's economic growth by 3.1% by 2050. This could push over 613,000 people into poverty and make 12 million more move within the country, says a new World Bank report.

Climate Risks for Uganda

The report shows big problems from climate change. Heat could lower work output by 2.4%. It could harm 21% of power lines. Roads may need 26 million dollars in fixes each year. The report says Uganda must change to a way of growing that can handle climate issues and make less pollution. It should focus on helping young people and poor people. It should also make farming, power, buildings, and cities stronger.

Plans to Fight Climate Change

The report gives four main ideas to help Uganda grow while fighting climate change. It says the whole economy and businesses need to help. Mary Porter Peschka from IFC says private money can help. She thinks smart farming, solar water pumps, clean power, electric cars, and green buildings can make more food and power. They can also make cities better to live in. This can make jobs and help the economy grow.
