CBSE Stops Issuing Physical Migration Certificates, Moves to DigiLocker

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stopped issuing physical migration certificates for class 10 and 12 students. Starting this academic year, these certificates will be available only through DigiLocker, a digital platform for storing official documents.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stopped issuing physical migration certificates for class 10 and 12 students. Starting this academic year, these certificates will be available only through DigiLocker, a digital platform for storing official documents.

Digital Certificates Now Free and Legally Valid

The CBSE will provide free, digitally signed migration certificates through DigiLocker. These digital certificates are legally valid and accepted by all higher education institutions in India. This change follows a directive from the University Grants Commission (UGC) asking universities to accept documents from DigiLocker as valid academic records. Students can easily download their certificates from the DigiLocker website or mobile app.

How to Get CBSE Migration Certificates

To get their migration certificate, students need to log in to DigiLocker using their account details. They can then find the certificate in the Issued Documents section under CBSE Documents. Schools will give students a six-digit code to activate their DigiLocker accounts. If students still need a printed copy during this change, they can apply through the CBSE website. The board will then send the printed certificate to their address.
