The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that the CBSE Class 10 sports exam will be held with the second board exam in May 2026. This decision affects students who want to appear for both sports events and board exams.

Exam Schedule and Registration Process

The first board exam will take place in February 2025. Students must fill out the List of Candidates (LOC) for the main exam. The LOC for sports students will be completed along with other students. This ensures their eligibility for the Second Board Examinations if exam dates clash with sports events. Sports students can take the second exam only for subjects that conflict with their events or travel.

Changes in Exam Pattern and Compartment Exams

CBSE will not hold a separate sports exam after the first or second board exams. If a sports student takes the second Board exam and gets placed in the compartment category, they will have to appear for the Compartment Examination next year in February or March. The Class 12 exam scheme remains unchanged. For students whose sports events clash with exams, CBSE will conduct re-exams after the first exams are over.
