CBSE has made a new rule for Class 10 sports students. They can now take board exams in May if their sports events clash with February exams. This change starts from 2026.
How the new exam policy works
The new rule is only for Class 10 students who play sports. If they have a big sports event during the February exams, they can take the exam in May instead. But this is only for the main written exam. It does not apply to practical tests or other school work. Schools must get proper papers from sports groups to show the student is really in a big event.
Rules for getting the special exam
Schools must work with sports groups like SAI or BCCI to get proof that a student is in a big event. They must send this proof to CBSE by December 15 each year. The new rule does not change anything for Class 12 students. They will still get a special exam after the main exams if they miss it for sports. Sanyam Bhardwaj from CBSE said this new rule gives equal chances to students who are good at both studies and sports.
