The University Grants Commission has approved 10 Higher Educational Institutions to offer Open and Distance Learning Programs for the 2025-26 academic year. The programs will start from July-August 2025.

Rules for ODL Programs

HEIs must follow UGC rules for entry level qualification, admission, program duration, and credits. They must also follow UGC Notification on Specification of Degrees 2014 and its changes. Approval for Different Universities

Central, State or Private Universities do not need prior approval from AICTE for some ODL or Online programs. These include Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Postgraduate Diploma programs in Management, Computer Applications, and Travel and Tourism.
