New Army Fitness Rules

The Indian Army made new fitness rules for all soldiers up to age 60. Earlier, only those under 50 had to take fitness tests. Now even top officers must pass tests twice a year. The new rules start from April 1, 2026. Older officers will do a 3.2 km walk, sit-ups and push-ups. This change aims to improve combat readiness in the army.

There was no merit in the application and the 2014 Shatrughan Chauhan judgment was complete in all aspects.
