The Maharashtra government has approved changes to the state scholarship exam structure. From -26, the exams will be held for Classes 4 and 7 instead of Classes 5 and 8.

The Maharashtra government has approved changes to the state scholarship exam structure. From 2025-26, the exams will be held for Classes 4 and 7 instead of Classes 5 and 8.

New Exam Schedule and Scholarship Amounts

The new exams for Class 4 and 7 will start in April or May 2026. The last exams for Class 5 and 8 will be in February 2026. From 2026-27, the exams will happen every year for Classes 4 and 7. The government has also increased the scholarship money. Class 4 students will get 5,000 rupees per year. Class 7 students will get 7,500 rupees per year.

Eligibility and Exam Details

Students from all types of schools can take the exam. This includes government, private, and self-financed schools. Students from CBSE, ICSE and other boards can also take part. There are age limits for the exams. For Class 4, students must be 10 years or younger. For Class 7, they must be 13 years or younger. The exam fee is 200 rupees for general category and 125 rupees for SC, ST and other groups.
