June 20, 2024, New Delhi – WhatsApp has announced a new feature “WhatsApp Chat Transfer” allowing users to transfer their chat history between devices using a QR code. This addition aims to simplify the process and eliminate the need for Google Drive.

WhatsApp Chat Transfer feature enables users to migrate their chat history between devices with a QR code. This option is currently available for Android beta users and is expected to roll out to the stable version soon.

To transfer chats using the new QR code feature, users need to generate a QR code on their old device by navigating to the settings and selecting the option for chat transfer. Then, they can use the camera on their new device to scan the QR code displayed on the old device. This will transfer the chat history seamlessly to the new device.

This feature eliminates the dependency on Google Drive, making the process faster and more convenient.
