West Bengal HS Semester 3 Exams Begin for 6.6 Lakh Students

West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education started the WBCHSE HS Exam Semester 3 on September 8,. About 6.6 lakh students are taking the WB 12th semester III exam, with 56.03 percent being girls.

West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education started the WBCHSE HS Exam 2026 Semester 3 on September 8, 2025. About 6.6 lakh students are taking the WB 12th semester III exam, with 56.03 percent being girls.

New Exam Format and Schedule

This is the first time class 12 students are taking exams in semester format. The exam will go on till September 22, 2025. It happens every day from 10 am to 10.45 am. The exam is taking place in 2016 centers across the state. Out of these, 122 centers are called sensitive. The exam started with language papers and will end with subjects like Biology, Political Science, and Taxation.

Exam Rules and Changes

The board has made new rules for students. They cannot bring calculators, mobile phones, smart watches, or any electronic items to the exam hall. They also cannot bring books, papers, or bags. The new exam format has different types of questions. Semesters 1 and 3 have multiple-choice questions. These questions help students think better. Semesters 2 and 4 have short answer and long answer questions. These help students write better.
