Earlier, under the banner of the North Railway Porter Union, the porters of the stations under the Allahabad Zone started the rail roko agitation in Hathras today. The porters, who were angry at the long-standing demands being ignored, gathered at the Hathras Junction station in the morning. Since morning, they jammed the North Central Railway track. The track was blocked near the Dhaulpur gate of the junction station.

According to the porters, former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav had issued an order in 2008 to give the porters the status of Group-D employees and to give jobs to the children of the porters who are more than 50 years old. Even after ten years, no action has been taken on this order. The porters are demanding the implementation of this order. Their demand is that the porters should be adjusted in the posts of the fourth category in the 62,907 vacant posts. After that, the government should recruit on the remaining posts.
