About 90 percent of the members of the Rajya Sabha are crorepatis. Their average wealth is 55.62 crore rupees. This information was obtained from the affidavits given by 229 out of the current 233 members of the upper house during the nomination process, which was revealed by the National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

According to the ADR report, 201 out of these 229 members (88 percent) are crorepatis. Mahendra Prasad of the Janata Dal (U) has the highest wealth of 4,078941 crore. In the case of rich members, Jaya Bachchan of the Samajwadi Party is second, with a wealth of 1,001.64 crore rupees. After that, Ravindra Kishore Sinha of the BJP has a wealth of 857.11 crore rupees. Compared to the big parties, the average wealth of 64 BJP members is 27.80 crore rupees, while the average wealth of 50 Congress members is 40.98 crore rupees. The average wealth of 14 SP members is 92.68 crore rupees and the average wealth of 13 Trinamool Congress members is 12.22 crore rupees. According to the report, 51 out of 229 members have given affidavits that they have criminal cases registered against them. Meanwhile, 20 Rajya Sabha members have serious criminal cases registered against them. 154 members of the upper house have declared that they have loans on them. Among them, Sanjay Dattatraya Kakade (304.60 crore), T Subbarami Reddy (173.59 crore) and Jaya Bachchan (105.65 crore) have the most debt.
