The LOCF suggests adding Indian mathematicians work to math courses. It also wants to include Bhartiya philosophy in Commerce and dharmic thought in Economics. The Chemistry course starts with a prayer to Saraswati. The Commerce course suggests teaching Kautilyas Arthshastra. Some history courses will include V.D. Savarkars Indian War of Independence. Reactions to the New Framework
Many people are worried about these changes. Opposition parties and state governments they lead are not happy. The Kerala Government has made a team led by economist Prabhat Patnaik to study the LOCF. Students have protested against the UGC in some universities. They even burned copies of the LOCF. The UGC says the new curriculum follows the National Education Policy 2020, which wants to include Indian knowledge in all subjects.
There are apprehensions over the LOCF, particularly from Opposition parties and State governments led by the Opposition parties.
