NEET NAT 2026 Guidelines: Age Limit, Marks, Eligibility Criteria

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) NAT 2026 will remain the main way for students to join medical courses in India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set rules about age, marks, and other things that students must follow to take the test.

Key Rules for NEET NAT 2026

Students must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2026 to take the test. There is no upper age limit now. Students need to score well in their 12th class exams. General category students need 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. SC, ST, and OBC students need 40% marks. Students with disabilities need 45% marks. The test is open to Indian citizens, NRIs, and foreign students.

Expected Cut-off Marks for NEET 2026

The cut-off marks change every year based on how hard the test is and how many students take it. For 2026, general category students may need about 137 marks to pass. SC and ST category students may need 95 to 100 marks. These are just guesses based on past years. The real cut-off will be announced after the test. Students should try to score much higher than the cut-off to get into good colleges.

As per the latest Supreme Court ruling, there is no upper age limit for NEET.
