JEE Main 2026: Exam Centers, Eligibility, and Cut-off Details

The National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main 2026 in January and April. This important engineering entrance exam helps students get into top colleges like NITs, IIITs, and IITs. Lakhs of students take the test every year.

Exam Centers and Eligibility

JEE Main 2026 exam centers will be in many cities across India. Students can pick up to four center choices when they apply. To take the exam, students must have passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or be in Class 12 in 2026. They need to study Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. There is no age limit for JEE Main. The full list of exam centers will come out later in the official information bulletin.

Expected Cut-offs and Preparation Tips

The cut-off marks change every year. For 2026, the expected cut-off for General category is 90-92 percentile. For OBC-NCL it is 75-78, for SC it is 60-65, and for ST it is 55-60 percentile. To do well in JEE Main, students should make a study plan, practice mock tests, and revise NCERT books well. The syllabus covers Class 11 and 12 topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Students should focus on important chapters like Organic Chemistry and Coordinate Geometry.
