The National Testing Agency will release JEE Main 2026 cutoffs for different categories. General category cutoff is expected to be 88-90 percentile, while OBC-NCL may be 73-78 percentile. Cutoffs for SC, ST and other categories will be lower.

Expected Cutoffs for Different Categories

The JEE Main 2026 cutoff for SC category is likely to be 55-60 percentile. For ST category, it may be 45-50 percentile. EWS and OBC categories may see a small rise in cutoffs due to more students applying. The PwD category usually has a very low cutoff of 1-2 percentile. These are qualifying cutoffs to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Actual admission cutoffs for top colleges will be much higher.

How Cutoffs are Decided

NTA releases the qualifying cutoff after both JEE Main sessions. It uses a formula to make scores fair across all exam shifts. The highest score in each shift gets 100 percentile. Other scores are adjusted based on this. JoSAA releases separate admission cutoffs for each college and branch. These depend on available seats and student demand. For top NITs, general category students may need ranks between 1000-5000 for popular branches like Computer Science.

Official JEE Main 2026 cutoffs will be announced by NTA after the exam results in early 2026. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
