IIT Guwahati will close GATE 2026 registration today, September 28, 2025. Students can apply on the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in until midnight. Late applications with extra fees will be accepted until October 9, 2025.
Exam dates and eligibility
The GATE exam will happen on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. Results will come out on March 19, 2026. Students in 3rd year or above of any degree program can take the test. People who finished any government-approved degree in Engineering, Science, Arts or other subjects can also apply. A new paper on Energy Science is added this year.
How to apply and fees
To apply, go to gate2026.iitg.ac.in and click on the registration link. Fill in your details, make an account, and pay the fees. The fee is 1000 rupees for girls, SC, ST, and disabled students. For others, it is 2000 rupees. You can pay online. After paying, submit the form and save a copy. Remember to apply before midnight today to avoid late fees.
