The Ministry of Food Processing Industries held a meeting with top food company CEOs today. The CEOs promised to pass on GST tax cut benefits to consumers and help farmers get better prices.

Food companies commit to support GST reforms

Big food companies like Amul, Britannia, and Coca-Cola attended the meeting. They agreed to tell smaller companies about the new GST rules. The companies also said they will help make more products in India. The new GST system has only two tax rates – 5% and 18%. This will make things cheaper for people to buy. It will also help companies make more money.

Minister asks industry to work with government

Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan led the meeting. He asked companies to make sure farmers and small businesses also benefit from the tax cuts. Paswan said the government wants to help the food industry grow. He told companies to make better products and sell them in other countries too. The minister asked CEOs to share any problems they face so the government can help solve them.
