The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is changing how it tests students. From 2025, most of the Class X exam will check how well students can use what they learned, not just remember facts. This big change aims to help students think better and be ready for jobs.
New exam format to test real-world skills
The new CBSE exam will have three parts. Most of it will test how students can use what they know. There will be questions that make students think hard. Some questions will ask students to write longer answers to show they really understand. Only a small part will check if students can remember facts. This change is part of a bigger plan to make Indian schools better. Schools will now focus on teaching skills that students need for life and work.
Teachers need training for new teaching methods
For this new way of teaching to work, teachers need to learn new skills. They need to know how to make students think and use what they learn. But not all teachers are getting the help they need. Some schools are training their teachers, but others are not. The CBSE wants all teachers to get at least 50 hours of training each year by 2025. This training will help teachers use new ways to teach and test students.
The transition is gradual, but teachers are changing through collaboration and mentoring.
