A ban on social media in Nepal led to big protests and changes in the government. People were angry about the ban and used it to show they were unhappy with leaders spending too much money.
Why People Got Angry
The government stopped people from using social media sites in Nepal on September 8, 2025. They said it was to stop fake news. But many people were already upset about rich leaders buying fancy things while normal people did not have jobs. The ban made people even more angry. They used the internet to share funny pictures making fun of the rich leaders.
How the Protests Grew
At first, people just sat with their phones to show they did not like the ban. But soon more people joined in. They started big marches in the streets. The police tried to stop them, but it did not work. After many days of protests, the old leaders had to leave. New people took over the government and said they would allow social media again.
