IIT Guwahati has extended the GATE 2026 registration deadline without late fees to October 6, 2025. Students can now apply for the exam on the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in to get admission into Masters and Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture and Humanities.
New Registration Dates and Fees
The regular registration deadline was moved from September 28 to October 6. Students can still apply until October 9 by paying a late fee. The application fee is Rs 1,000 per paper for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates during the regular period. For all other candidates, it is Rs 2,000 per paper. In the extended period, the fees increase to Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,500 respectively.
Eligibility and Application Process
To apply for GATE 2026, students must be in the third year or higher of a degree program. They can also apply if they have completed a degree in engineering, technology, science or other approved fields. Even students with foreign degrees can apply. To register, candidates should visit the official website and click on Application Portal. They need to enter their details, submit documents, and take a printout for future use.
