KFC India has started a new program called Kshamata to help its speech and hearing-impaired workers. The program will teach them writing and reading skills by 2026. It was announced on September 23, which is International Day of Sign Languages.

Program Details and Goals

KFC is working with Atypical Advantage to run this program. It will give 50 hours of online training. Workers will learn basic grammar, how to write emails, and how to understand what they read. This will help them do their jobs better and grow in their careers. KFC wants 2% of its workers to be speech and hearing-impaired in the coming year.

KFC's Efforts for Inclusion

In 2024, KFC India became the first fast food company in India to teach sign language to all its workers. They have a special coach for sign language. KFC has also opened restaurants run by speech and hearing-impaired staff. Some of these workers have become leaders in KFC restaurants.
