NEET UG 2026 will decide MBBS admissions in India. The cut off ranks for MBBS seats will vary based on college type, state, and student category. Lakhs of students will compete for over 1 lakh MBBS seats.
Expected MBBS Cut Off Ranks for 2026
For top government colleges, students may need a rank under 20,000 in the general category. AIIMS Delhi might have a cut off within the top 100 ranks. Private colleges usually have lower cut offs but higher fees, ranging from 10 to 25 lakh rupees per year. State quotas will have different cut offs. Popular states like Delhi and Maharashtra will likely have higher cut offs than North-East states.
Factors Affecting MBBS Cut Off 2026
The NEET UG 2026 paper difficulty will impact cut offs. If the exam is easier and more students score high, cut offs may rise slightly. The total number of MBBS seats, expected to cross 1 lakh in 2026, will also affect cut offs. Category-wise cut offs will differ, with lower ranks needed for reserved categories. All India Quota (15 percent) seats will have higher cut offs as students from all states compete for them.
A rank under 20,000 (General category) is considered safe for top govt. colleges.
Students must aim for 650+ marks in NEET 2026 for a good chance at government college seats. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
