Many students are worried about the CBSE private candidate forms for 2026. The forms do not have the option to take an additional subject exam. This option was there before and helped students qualify for different courses.
What Changed in the CBSE Forms
CBSE put out a notice on September 8, 2025 for Class X and XII private candidates. The notice talks about who can apply and when. But students say they cannot find the choice to add an extra subject. This was possible in past years. Many science students used this to add Maths and apply for engineering courses. Some used it to change careers or pass a failed subject.
How Students Are Affected
One student who passed in 2024 said CBSE used to allow three chances to clear a failed subject. Now that option is gone. Another student taking a break year to prepare for JEE said they studied Maths outside school. They planned to take the exam as a private candidate. But now they might not be able to apply for engineering at all. Some students feel very sad and worried. They say this sudden change has put their future at risk.
I am feeling very demotivated. This sudden change has put our future at stake.
Students are waiting for CBSE to explain why this change was made and if there are other options. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
