Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary of Department of Fisheries, led a team to Iceland from 10-12 September 2025. They talked about working together on fishing and fish farming with Iceland's experts.

Meetings with Iceland Ocean Cluster

On 11 September, Dr. Likhi met with Iceland Ocean Cluster in Reykjavik. They talked about making fish farming better in India. They also looked at how Iceland's companies could work in India. The talks were about new ways to process fish, add value, and make sure the fish is good quality. Indian officials shared plans for fish farming in India. Iceland companies told about their ways of using all parts of fish and new machines.

Visits to Expo and Research Center

The Indian team went to the Iceland Fishing Expo on 10 September. Dr. Likhi met Iceland's Minister of Industries there. They talked about how both countries can work together more. The team also visited MATIS, a place that studies food and sea life. They learned about food safety and using sea resources well. Both sides want to work on deep-sea fishing, fish farming in hills, and special fishing in Indian islands.
