The UK Government has increased defence spending to a record high of £31.7 billion for 2024/25. This 6% rise in real terms will boost the economy and create jobs across the country.

Big jump in weapons and jobs

The money for weapons and bullets went up by 21% after counting for rising prices. This will help keep the UK safe in a world that is not very stable. The extra money will make more jobs in different parts of the UK. This will help people earn more money. The Government wants to use defence spending to make the economy grow.

Benefits spread across UK regions

Every person in the UK will get about £460 worth of defence spending. This is more than last year's £440. Some areas will see big increases. Yorkshire and Humber will get 30% more money. London will get 18% more, and the North West will get 15% more. This is the most money spent on UK defence in over 10 years.
