Himachal Pradesh Closes All Schools and Colleges Due to Heavy Rainfall

Shimla, September 4, 2024

The Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered all schools and colleges to remain closed until September 7 due to heavy rainfall and damage across the state. Both government and private educational institutions, including teacher training centers, will stay shut for student safety.

Heavy Rain Causes Widespread Damage

Secretary Rakesh Kanwar from the Education Department said the state has been hit by very heavy rainfall for several days. This has caused landslides, fallen trees, blocked roads, and power cuts throughout Himachal Pradesh.

The government is worried that more such incidents could happen in the coming days due to bad weather conditions.

Teachers and Staff Also Get Leave

Teachers and other school staff do not need to come to work during this closure period. However, school heads must try to conduct classes online whenever possible.

School principals have been told to stay alert and protect school buildings, equipment, and important records during the closure.

Education Minister Explains Decision

Education Minister Rohit Thakur told reporters that heavy rain has affected normal life across North India, including Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.

“The safety of children is very important. We have taken this uniform decision to keep schools closed for the remaining three-four days of this week,” he said.

Thakur added that online classes will continue so students do not miss their studies. He hopes regular classes will start again next week when weather improves.

Teachers Day and Literacy Milestone

The state-level Teachers Day program on September 5 will go ahead as planned. The Governor and Chief Minister will attend this event.

On September 8, Himachal Pradesh will be declared a fully literate state, joining other states that have achieved 100% literacy.

Apple Farmers Face Losses

The heavy rain has badly affected the apple harvest season. Minister Thakur said 1.35 crore apple boxes have been sold so far, which is about 50% of the total crop.

Road damage has made it difficult for farmers to transport their apples to markets. The government is working quickly to repair roads so farmers do not lose more money.

The next 15-20 days will be very important for apple harvest and road repairs.

CBSE Launches Special Portal for Students with Disabilities

New Delhi, January 15, 2025

CBSE has started a new online portal to help students with special needs get exam facilities easily. The Central Board of Secondary Education made this portal so that children with disabilities can ask for help during their board exams without any trouble.

How the New Portal Works

Schools can now use this special CWSN portal to request exam help for their students with disabilities. CWSN stands for Children With Special Needs.

The board explained that schools must log into the Pariksha Sangam portal first. Then they can find the CWSN section where all eligible students are listed.

What Students Can Get

The portal shows different types of help available for each disability. Students can get extra time, separate rooms, or other support during exams.

When schools select the needed help, this information will appear on the student’s admit card automatically. This way, exam centers will know what arrangements to make.

Important Dates

Schools can fill student details and upload documents on the CWSN portal from September 9 to 22, 2025.

The board wants to make sure that all students with special needs get proper help during examinations without facing any problems, CBSE stated in their official notice.

Easy Process for Schools

The new system makes things simple for schools. They just need to mark which students need help and what kind of support they require.

Exam centers will then prepare everything needed so students can take their tests comfortably.

Students and schools should visit the official CBSE website for complete details about using this new portal.

This portal will help thousands of students with disabilities take their board exams with confidence and proper support.

CBSE Issues New Rules for Student Detail Corrections to Speed Up Process

New Delhi, December 19, 2024

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced new strict rules for schools when they ask to fix student details on mark sheets. The board wants to make sure Class 10 and 12 students get their certificates with correct information faster.

Why CBSE Made These Changes

CBSE said many schools send requests to fix student details like names, dates of birth, or addresses on mark sheets. But most of these requests are not complete or missing important papers.

The board gives schools many chances to send correct student information. But schools often send unclear documents or do not reply when CBSE asks for more papers.

This creates big delays in giving students their final certificates with the right details.

New Rules Schools Must Follow

CBSE has made these rules that all schools must follow strictly:

Schools must send complete and certified records with every correction request. All documents must be clear and easy to read.

If schools send incomplete requests, CBSE will reject them right away without checking further.

Schools cannot send partial information or unclear photocopies anymore.

What This Means for Students

Students will get their corrected mark sheets much faster if schools follow these new rules properly.

The board wants to make sure every Class 10 and 12 student gets their Mark Sheet-cum-Passing Certificate with 100 percent correct personal details.

CBSE stated: To ensure that requests sent to CBSE are processed in the minimum possible time, schools are directed to provide complete certified records.

Next Steps

Schools must start following these new rules immediately for all correction requests. Students should check with their schools to make sure all their details are correct before exams.

For complete details about these new rules, students and schools can visit the official CBSE website.

New Delhi, December 19, 2024

Government changes scribe rules for disabled students taking competitive exams to stop cheating and make tests more fair. The new guidelines will require all exam bodies to create their own trained scribe teams within two years.

Major Changes in Exam Rules

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has released new rules for how disabled students can get help during competitive exams. These changes affect all government job tests and college entrance exams across India.

The biggest change is ending the old system where students could bring their own scribes. Many exam bodies like UPSC found that some students and their personal scribes were cheating together.

Why These Changes Were Needed

Significant inputs have been received from responsible bodies like UPSC, DoPT, NRA, etc., expressing concern over the credibility and transparency of the exams being undertaken by the PwDs by using a scribe, the ministry said in its official statement.

Exam officials noticed that some scribes were writing answers on their own without listening to students. This made tests unfair for honest students.

New Scribe System Rules

All major exam bodies including UPSC, SSC, and National Testing Agency must build their own scribe pools within two years. These scribes will be properly trained and watched during exams.

Students can still bring their own scribes only in special cases until the new system is ready. The government wants students to use technology like screen readers and speech-to-text software instead of depending on scribes.

Better Exam Conditions

Students with writing problems will get 20 extra minutes per hour during exams. Test centers must have ramps, lifts, and ground floor seating for wheelchair users.

Students with learning differences will get quieter rooms. All exam staff will receive training on how to help disabled students properly.

Stricter Scribe Rules

New scribes must have education levels two to three years below what the exam requires. They cannot take the same exam themselves and must have no conflicts of interest.

Officials who do not follow these rules or exclude disabled students will face punishment. Students and scribes caught cheating will also face penalties.

The new system aims to make exams fair while helping disabled students succeed independently in their future jobs and studies.
