The Delhi Jal Board has started making a new Sewage Masterplan for 2043. This plan will improve the city's sewage system for the next 20 years. The water board is looking for experts to help make this plan.
New Plan to Fix Sewage Problems
The new plan will change how Delhi's big sewage system works. The city will be split into four parts. Each part will have one company to take care of it. This will make work faster and easier to check. Right now, many small companies do different jobs. The new plan will also try to stop dirty water from going into the Yamuna river. It will help clean up the river too.
Current Sewage System Needs Help
Delhi has a big sewage system with many pipes and cleaning plants. But it's not enough for all the dirty water the city makes. About 23% of the dirty water is not cleaned properly. It goes into drains and the Yamuna river. The new plan will try to fix this problem. It will also look at why the old plan from 2031 did not work fully. The experts will use flying cameras to map the city and check how the system is working.
Work on separate sewage lines is carried out by different contractors. With a single agency in charge, the process will be much faster and accountability can be fixed.
The Delhi Jal Board will choose the experts to make the new plan by October 3. Follow The Rising News for more verified updates.
